TREAT YOUR EGO IN 4 HOURS: Brief Therapy: The Complete Self-Help Program, Hour by Hour

This 99-page contribution to the literature of self-help is as superficial as Carnegie, Maltz, Peale. It contains 29 ""Brief Therapy Messages"" (""If you can love yourself, you can love anyone else. . ."" ""Make all behavior your choice.""), a few short questionnaires (""How much pain have I been feeling recently?"" ""Can I have fun by myself?.""), and assorted exercises in mirror-looking, and self-congratulations. The authors promise that ""Four hours from now, you will have an entirely new, fresh outlook on yourself and your life."" They concede that it won't work for all readers, but certainly for ""most."" The program stresses awareness, needs, self-respect, responsibility, and choice. A Concept of human problems that verges on contempt.
