RABBLE ROUSER

Reads almost like biography -- a rambling account of the rise of Cabe Hargis, whose only gift lay in ""rabble rousing"" and helping the underdog. He links up with helpless ' and loses his girl to him -- runs for prosecuting attorney, and loses -- and sets out to save the Hollow from the threatened dam. Told in dialect, much of the time. Long drawn out and repetitious -- but has a certain appeal in its homespun strength.
