SIR GALAHAD AND OTHER RHYMES

He's no respector of persons -- or tradition -- or romance, this Christopher Ward. But he does his spoofing so entertainingly and in so kindly a spirit, in spite of barbs, that one can forgive having figures of the classics pulled down from their pedestals. Not only do the famous knights of King Arthur's court get theirs, but heroes and heroines of Greek mythology, characters in Shakespeare's plays, figures in history. Very modern in vernacular and turn of phrase, these ribald verses -- but good reading.
