THE KEY MAN

A TV premeer (trust this old maestro not to miss the latest gimmicks) and an inconsequential sort of guy heckling, puts young director, Peter Mortain, in a peculiar spot to protect Tod Arundel, the star. Peter, a placid perfectionist, soft voices through the killing of the heckler, the intimidation of the cast by a chiseling singer, and the hotspot the show sizzles on. That he comes through, with the police in his pocket, the gal (and her grandmother) on his lap -- rounds out the usual Kelland cunning.
