Pretty far-fetched, this attempt to fit into an ABC book things associated with the country, for one has to go far afield for things unfamiliar to the ABC age group, -- vetch, yarrow, newts, kestrel, etc. to fill out the alphabet. The pictures, to the adult eye, are effective, but to the small fry, they are not direct enough to be recognizable.
