THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS

New type of work for this gifted artist, in a gorgeously caparisoned rendering of the Christmas classic. There's a stageset feel as you turn the pages and see each phase of the story in verse dramatized with big, splashy pictures. Beautiful details, large figures (the parents seem old to me, but otherwise the pictures carry out one's ideal mental picture admirably). A gay paper on board binding, highly glazed, but rather perishable in backbone and stitching and lack of reenforcement. Good value.
