Lake Tahoe, and the restless frings of Reno, for the double murder of a servant's son and a wealthy dowager which revives suspicion against her grandson, Lloyd, who had just beaten a first degree murder rap in New York state. Mike Riley, a newspaperman, in love with Charlotte-- Lloyd's sister, takes Charlotte's defense of her little brother on faith, turns in a tight case for the mountain county sheriff.
