Cowboys (Dutton, 1937) this pictures the life, thirty five years ago, in the hot, desert part of Arizona, South of the Mogollon Plateau, of the cowboys and their work -- rounding up wild cattle, struggling against the encroaching sheep -- fighting cactus and stampedes. There are rodeos, round-ups, the cattle versus sheep wars, the great drought of 1903-1904 -- all from personal experience and adding to Southwest history. A good job.
