From homicidal highjinks, and small boy tales, this is a departure for T for the story of Barney and his brood of youngsters who, with his wife, combine to his eyes to his treason to his beliefs and the ideas for which he thinks he is fight Minus a marriage certificate (bypassed in a youthful moment) and with four children, Barney comes back from the war resolved to keep the things he holds dear. But ambition and persuasion and political angles mix him up a bit; his older daughter's love affair, and his younger daughter's book, his evil genius' wife and a certain weakness when in vino, and the result is a whirl on Barney's personal (and would-be-private) circus. family story with effervescent moments, slightly sophisticated, this has the gaiety of quiet farce.
