This is a tale of two little girls who were singularly fond of magic. When Mr. Moon, the toy shop owner, provides them with a package of tea, they enter into the magic realm with considerable violence. Transformed into dolls, they see their dolls assume human shape. Life becomes difficult for the two sisters as they are deprived of their human prerogatives. From then on enchantment follows enchantment, as the girls meet a singular collection of animals and creatures. All superbly illustrated in decorative line drawings by Dorothea Stefula. For those who have read with pleasure Confetti for Cortorelli, this book by the same author once again offers the comprehensible but elegant vocabulary, the atmosphere and whimsy for which David Fletcher is celebrated.
