DECOMPRESSION BABIES

Rorvik, a popularizer who has been presenting the further-out aspects of the new embryology to come -- Brave New Baby or Your Baby's Sex (Dr. Shettles' theory) -- now plumps for a technique called abdominal decompression which South Africa's Dr. Heyns has advanced to relieve placental insufficiency which causes miscarriages or, if the baby is delivered alive, likely brain damage. Decompression (you can even accomplish it yourself!) eases pressure and facilitates circulation and oxygenation; it has been adopted by a Dr. Lundgren who contributes the foreword; there are a number of supportive individual case histories and some statistics but you do wonder why if it is ""beneficial for nearly every pregnant woman"" it has not been more widely sponsored outside of South Africa and Great Britain? Acceptance by the Reader's Digest and Family Circle seem to have been easier than that of our College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
