OPEN DOOR TO THE GREAT LAKES

This is really a book of miscellaneous information tied together only by the fact that it all relates to the Great Lakes region. Included are the geologic, archaeological, tribal, and historical features of the whole area, but the discussions are so tangential that they fail to give the unified portrayal which is the book's purpose. A final chapter offers scraps of information about the eight states which border on the Lakes. The book is solely of regional interest and it leaves the door wide open to more substantial coverage.
