Many wondered that the birth of one baby should bring such joy"" to the traveling musicians, the three cowboys, the folk who brought gifts of food and the migrant couple who took refuge in a garage having found no room at an inn. For which read here motel. . . and afterward, flight across the border from a charge of disturbing the peace. In somber to radiant hues and the very fewest words, the Nativity on native soil, dignified as it might not have been but problematic as it must be. (For starters, consider the realistic aspect. . . of the two not trying a hospital.) It is discomforting--which would be to the better perhaps if it were less pat.
