WESTWARD, HIGH, LOW AND DRY

With a 1929 Ford that is making a gallant stand against old age, the Hogners, seeking warmth and the sun after an old time New England winter, tour the West and Southwest, the deserts and valleys, talk to many people and explore little known places. Incidents of the road, yarns and life stories, are mingled with stories of courage, bravery, human goodness, etc., and are sketched against the changing scenery of their trip. They investigate the efforts the government is making to control current disasters, soil erosion, dam and canal building, etc. Keen observation and information presented informally, make this good reading.
