LITTLE ESTHER

Story of a thoroughbred Pekinese, of her resentment at losing the fun that other dogs had by being housed in a city apartment and taken out on a leash, and of the various attempts to show that she was not merely a lapdog. The adventures wind up in a dog show in which she is chosen as best dog in the show. So-so -- neither particularly good nor particularly bad. Illustrations by Nils Hogner somewhat sophisticated, so adults are apt to choose this book on the basis of their own enjoyment.
