WHITEOUT!

From Greenland's iciest mountain, site of an American research and development base, Harry Bowes tells a story of assorted catastrophes. Bowes has been sent to introduce an air-cushion vehicle (even if you don't know a wanigan from a solenoid switch it won't matter). Camp Hundred, by name, is more than just accident prone: there have been six, or was it seven, dead men in a snow tunnel ""frozen hard as planks""; sabotage; food poisoning; fire; missing people--all compounded by the whiteouts with no visibility, or was that a mirage? Kyle's informed adventure story (he's been up there) is as relentless as an icicle dripping down your neck--hot-cold excitement of the first order.
