ROCKETS AT DAWN

Continuing the southern California mountain adventures of Mace Donnegan and Wint Phillips (see Sierra Quest, 1953 p. 117)- this winds up their hunt for the gold thief, Rave Farrol. Though Rave is captured, his loot remains hidden and to get the reward for it (that the boys need to finance their pack train) Mace and Wint start off on a trail detecting job that leads them inside a Navy testing and bombing range. The calls are close (there are too many of them for a well sustained plot) and misses near until the boys make the final hit. Routine- and no hint of SF in spite of the title.
