The participants are new but the score's the same in that old terrorist game. John Fitzgerald, a self-questioning IRA demolitions expert, wonders how he'll be able to redeem himself after accidentally blowing up six youngsters due to a bad fuse. He gets his chance when a Dutch diplomat is assassinated by Palestinian guerrillas in the Persian Gulf sheikdom of Al Tufiyah. Holland, already suffering from the effects of an Arab oil embargo, gets ready to declare war. Fitzgerald sides' with a Dutch naval attache as he prepares to ""legally"" hijack an Al Tufiyahan supertanker from Bantry Bay in the name of the Royal Netherlands Navy. The veteran gelignite man discovers that his recent miscue has landed him on the IRA death list. . . he's compelled to ransom the tanker in Rotterdam harbor for four million dollars in gold. . . and you should be able to take it from there. A familiar crossing on automatic pilot -- the invoice reads maritime poppycock.
