THE TWISTED SHADOW

A summertime mystery romance, with some career information woven into the narrative too, takes place at Summit Harbor, Maine, and centers around Judy Carrington who has come from her junior year at Barnard to run the bookmobile for the local library. On one of her first trips Judy meets Tim Wade, a young forest ranger at nearby Gun Point National Park. Though begun in adverse circumstances, their friendship ripens to romance and besides the fun they have together and on their jobs, a mystery develops when an ill intentioned writer who is part of Summit Harbor's artist colony tries to pan off as his own the manuscript of another writer who had recently died. A breezy who dunit, but hardly dependent on the inner thoughts of Judy and Tim who exhibit only an expected set of feelings and emotions despite the intelligence and capabilities they are said to have.
