DAVID AND PATIENCE

Ten-year old David and his sister Pashy are determined to find their father, a Newfoundland fisherman lost at sea some time before. David makes several attempts to stow away on ships, but finally promises Dr. Grenfell to stay home instead and help his mother till Christmas at least. At Christmas his father returns, Dr. Grenfell having restored him to health at the Mission after his terrible experience. A slight story with a rather weak plot, but nevertheless warm and human, and interesting because of the Grenfell angle, although not much of a picture of Sir Wilfred as a person. Good picture of Newfoundland life.
