Nonsense tale which proved its appeal in 1938, now reissued. Children enjoy stories where grownups are in the wrong and get punished, and Suzie didn't object at all when Miss Smith's incessant impatience got her into difficulties. She falls down a manhole; she gets stuck in an elevator between floors; she tumbles into a vat of glue in a factory -- and Suzie only helps her out when she promises never to hurry again. Humorous pictures, which suggest the sort of thing children create, carry the chuckles along. Aside from the doubtful results of the story -- for children who want a reason for procrastination- this is a novel bit of humor at child level.
