Chapters on history, depletion, conservation, and the first use of decoys, end on the note that the good old days are gone forever. Coming down to the problems and techniques of modern hunting, Mr. Janes tells us clearly and easily about different species, jump shooting, shooting from blinds, decoys, duck boats, a little about choosing a hunting dog, guns and loads, and storage and cooking. A further note on conservation stresses the importance of maintaining the wildfowl stock and there is an appendix with the federal game laws. Several color plates and photographs add to the attractiveness of a nicely bound volume. Very suitable for a gift.
