MAKING YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS EFFECTIVE

This assuredly has a double sale, to adult camera fans and to youth who are taking it much more seriously than the average passing hobby. A thoroughly scientific study of cameras and equipment, of photographic negative materials, of filters, of light, composition and developing and printing. The section on light is particularly helpful, with diagrams and comparative photographs, which demonstrate the value of careful study of light effects in photography. There's a book in the offing on the S & S list which will supplement this admirably in fuller exposition of the dark room processes, developing, printing, enlarging, etc. Good introduction to commercial photography, for amateurs with aspirations.
