RETURN TO LAUGHTER

A voyage of self discovery was made over the sea of an alien culture when a young anthropologist studied an African tribe to learn its language and the dynamics of its life. She became enmeshed enough in their ways to experience their rivalries and witchcraft and though she escaped during the madness of a smallpox epidemic, she returned with comprehension of the native ability to accept misfortune and to face realities with laughter. Unusual in intent and execution.
