THE KITTEN STAND

Another Story Parade book, for somewhat older children who are ready for more extended story interest. This popular author has sure appeal both for little girls and their parents. Kate and Trudy are faced with the problem of disposing of Jumpy's kittens or having them destroyed. Discouraged that they cannot find homes for them, they hit on the scheme of selling them by the pound at a roadside stand. There's nice balance of character and plot, and illustrations in pastel colors by Katherine Keeler make it an attractive and appealing book. Rather perishable both as to coloring and board binding, but good value at this price.
