UNDER THE LITTLE FIR and Other Stories

A truly beautiful book with lovely drawings by Nora S. Unwin to complement the six stories. Rich in imagination and feeling, these will be a boon to story-tellers and all who try them aloud will find themselves reading slowly and carefully in order to allow the excellent prose and meanings to sink in. The title story should be included in all future Christmas anthologies, but even on a broiling summer evening it has given pleasure to reader and listener. One of the tales is based on early 16th century tapestries in the Cluny Museum. At first handling you know you have a gem, the feel of the book is perfect.
