Penelope marries Donald Garth, although she had been in love with Dick Wentworth, to cover the expenses of her mother's illness- and once Don learns her real motives- the marriage is maintained in name only. Along with the scuffed feeling this situation produces, there is a widow- gay and troublesome, the worthless, and some blueprints (Don heads a war plant) which make him the butt of enemy espionage.... The love which does no alteration find- for an unswerving public.
