MURDER ON THE FACE OF IT

Susan Yates and assistant district attorney Lyle Curtis (of Murder in Style) enmeshed in snarled-up plot, which concerns toppling of a cosmetic firm, death of that firm's head, strange doings in Susan's dress designing business, a shipboard crowd that hangs together in New York, peculiar happenings to Atlantic crossing dogs, Susan's meeting competition for Lyle's affections and losing faith in her old friends -- and a murder (that turns out to be two). Solution satisfactory, plenty of decoys for the unwary. A complicated dish withal -- and good entertainment.
