Through careful analysis of the Nazi schools, the subjects taught, the ideology prevalent, the relation of the teacher to the state, the extra-curricula activities all turned toward training for war, she reveals a situation tragic in a country where, formerly, education was at a peak of excellence. There is enough case history and personal experience to give it a human -- and tragic -- significance.
