AMERICA'S PAUL REVERE

On P. 298 we mentioned the fact that this Lynd Ward edition of an abridged Paul Revere was in the offing. Now we have seen page proofs, and confess to disappointment in the condensation (for that is all it is) providing about fifty pages of running text for a set of stiff, mannered- and grim- Lynd Ward drawings. Glowing rich colors do not offset, for my taste, the unevenness of the drawings, but the doublespread depicting Boston's waterfront, is worth the price of the book.
