THE SILVER WIDGEON

Third and fourth grade boys will like this tale of Peter and Pudgy, aged ten and eight, who are taken off for a trip in a Grumman Widgeon by Mr. Van Courtland Bickle to his camp in Canada. Charlie May, the female colored help, goes along. She is so terrified that her reactions provide fun, while there is plenty of excitement because the radio bogs down and hours later they are forced to land on a small lake in the Canadian wilderness. The boys' ingenuity helps them all through the days they are lost, they even counteract Mr. Bickle's foul humor.
