HOW YOU CAN MAKE DEMOCRACY WORK

Forty years successful experience in social, educational and civic work stand behind this book which instills a spirit of community cooperation and welfare. Simply, topically arranged, this is a handbook to show how democracy can be made to mean more than a form of government, how it is also a state of mind and a way of life. The individual's role, civic interest and participation, whether in church, P T A, police department, courts, health, housing, schools, public libraries, parks, social welfare, or whatever. The closing chapters on the furthering and accomplishing of these ends indicate proper coordination between young and old and proper training. The market for this sort of book is rather special, but of its kind, it is good.
