THE WORLD OF PSYCHIC PHENOMENA

A believing- and very believable- look at that other world of paranormal experience and its many manifestations- forerunners and ghosts and apparitions, Abominable Snowmen or Flying Saucers, poltergeists and precognitive dreams, etc., etc. this is approached with reason- and on the evidence of reputable sources. This examination proceeds from the powers of the subconscious mind (hypnosis- clair- voyance- possession) to its respectful cultivation (yoga) in the East; to visions and voices and other miraculous manifestations; spectral shapes, sensitives and mediums; and the organizations and individuals (largely scholars and scientists) who have worked toward the advancement of psychical research and the exposure of the fraudulent fringe area it attracts. A by no means cheap popularization, rather deliberately careful in its conclusions to much of the material assembled from all kinds of testimony, this is a happy haunting ground of strange phenomena which even the adamantine skeptic will find difficult to dismiss.
