GIVE LOVE THE AIR

The breaking up, and making up, of a marriage- stretched out full length in the story of the Tempests, -Jon, of social standing, and Lily, of the theatre who did not meet with the approval of Jon's mother. At each other's throats- most of the time- Jon and Lily decide to keep on together when a radio program- featuring them as a Happy couple- gives them a chance to win a following publicly, while privately they exercise their temperaments. Lily, jealous of Iris, who was to have married Jon, also gives Jon reason for resentment in Dave Manning, playboy, until after a final flare-up, Lily proves her genuine worth to her mother-in-law and Jon comes to heel. Not the best Baldwin, this is still better butter for rental libraries.
