FAIRY TALES FROM NEAR AND FAR

Felix Salten's name may lure a few unwary purchasers to this book despite its unprepossessing format, poor typography, greyish paper, and wooden illustrations, in black and white, and garish pink and blue. Even the content has little recommend it. Here's what the publishers any about it:-"" ...should do much to acquaint our little ones with the dreamlands of the boys and girls oher nations. The stories are highly entertaining, and have, at the same time, educational as well as moral value.""...Well, we prefer our fairy tales in more beguiling dress, thank you. Third rate.
