WHO'S SEEN THE SCISSORS?

No one will have trouble seeing these runaway scissors as both they and their path are conspicuously colored red when they cut a mischievous swath across town--through a horse's reins, a girl's pigtail, a cello's strings, a tightwalker's rope, and a startled lion's mane until, finally, they snip the suspenders of a soap box orator. Like April Fools (KR, 1974) this takes off from the merest snippet of an idea, and (though it's distracting to follow the scissors flying backwards from right to left across the page) Krahn fills out the wordless joke with truthful detail--from the pencil drawn house facades and interiors to the chagrined faces of the victims. A very private chuckle.
