A miscellaneous collection of sensuous love lyrics from Turkey, Persia, Burma, China, Japan, etc. This volume has some charm-love being a subject of perennial appeal, and some interest- since a good many of the poems are new to the English reader. Unfortunately, the collection has no particular form or arrangement, and the translations are occasionally felicitous but never distinguished. A nice gift book.
