THE SON OF MAN

The famous French Catholic novelist, Francois Mauriac, here offers the reader some profoundly religious, sensitive, deeply moving and poetically inspired meditations on the life of Christ. In the hands of Mauriac, the life of Christ yields uncommon lessons and applications. The sin of anti-Semitism, for example, is viewed as an insult to Christ. Even those who find Mauriac's novels not to their liking in an English translation will probably relish the present volume. It is the sort of work that lends itself to English translation better than his novels do.
