MESSENGER OF FAIR ISLAND

A rather dreamy story of a boy and his people on a small island off France tells of the efforts of Michel, determined to win the bicycle race, and with it the honor of officially welcoming a famous singer to Fair Island. Also preparing for the race is Charles Girard, a mean little kid French style, who spreads lies about Michel and almost gets him disqualified. But once in the race, Michel stumbles across some old Roman ruins that make his victory doubly wonderful and Girard, who promises to mend his ways, is forgiven by the town.
