THE TREASURE OF BARBY SWIN

Full fashioned young sea adventure (by the author of The Sea Robbers, The Haunted Reef and others) gives Dick Grover a run for his gold pieces, back in 1804. Peacefully at work in old Amos Deeping's ship chandlers' store in the small English port of North Shields, Dick becomes aware of Amos' obsession with Barby Swin, a murderous slaver he had once served. Amos is sure Barby is dead- but when he returns to claim a treasure now in Amos' possession the excitement begins. Amos is killed. Dick escapes with his life alone, to board a whaler, sail south and meet Barby again for an absorbing chain of events that ends only back in North Shields- with Barby and the treasure both claimed by the sea.
