THE MANILA MENFISH

More credible and more trimly plotted than The Java Wreckmen, the last story about the venturesome Dirk Rogers, owner of the salvage ship Sulawesi, and his cousin Jim Cartwright, is this stealthy sally against a group of Huks smuggling uranium to Communist China. The Huks' system is really neat. They deliver the uranium to a sunken Japanese battleship where it stays in a cage until divers from a Chinese beche-de-mer boat come along to pick it up. How Dirk and Jim come in contact with the mystery, how Dirk goes to the Huks as a diver in disguise, etc., etc. all make a crisp and crackling mystery.
