THE HIGHWAYMAN

From a drummer boy in the Civil War to a deadbeat in Deadwood, Sam Bonner decides against the final choice of outlawry but, after one holdup with Wendell Morgan, he is branded, and is forced to mastermind Morgan's gang. Hounded by the father of the girl he loves when he returns East, he pulls off a bank robbery, gets a big haul from the Union Pacific and is almost successful in evading the Pinkertons. This is the hard, fast life of a man unwillingly against society. Western style. Iron-jawed.
