RELUCTANT REBEL

Full of derring-do, and a panorama of the days of revolt among real, colorful pioneers, this tells of the Green Mountain Boys, and their activities against the reapportionment of the New Hampshire Grants. Young Adam Corlaer, quite uninterested in politics or parties, becomes personally involved -- and emotionally -- when a trip brings him into the midst of Ethan Allen's fight for the rights of the settlers, and his participation on both sides earns him distrust by both parties. When his feelings and beliefs are clarified, it is Allen he fights for and the girl he really loves. Stalwart re-creation of historical situations and events.
