EAST MONSOON

Armchair entertainment for anyone interested in sailing craft -- in strange lands -- on adventure reminiscences of somewhat mild nature. The author travelled in a native boat, with natives, around the Southern end of Celebes, and settled down while waiting for his own boat to be constructed, seizing the opportunity to collect stories, gossip, and local color from the inhabitants. Good reporter and observer -- writes entertainingly of casual adventures and misadventures. Rather mild topic after most of the books in this field.
