LEGACY OF YEAR

A rousing, top-grade active tale in the John Buchan tradition. Duff Catleigh, junior partner of a N.Y. antiques firm, goes to an island off the coast of British Columbia in search of fine old furniture. He finds that, and stumbles upon mystery, adventure and romance -- involving a shady lawyer, a black-haired Irish beauty, Chinese dope peddlers, a strange old lumber baron's lonely mansion, and the quest of the mysterious ""Scarlet Rhododendron"". Told in a terse, but highly literate style, this swiftly-moving story of the fog-bound North West coast is a welcome and worthy and worthy addition to the shelf of escape reading.
