A HORSE TO REMEMBER

This is the Award of the Julia Ellsworth Ford Foundation and a pretty solid book in this age range. A young boy in a riding family can be quite a stranger if he is afraid of horses. The girl twins seem born in the saddle but it takes an exceptional combination of circumstances, horse and boy, to make a blue ribbon team. The adventures are competent and brief, there's a bit of mystery, and a core of personal problem, and it is a book for girls and boys both.
