THE TOASTMASTER GENERAL'S GUIDE TO SUCCESSFUL PUBLIC SPEAKING

Familiar, time-tested advice on speechifying, with a Jessel stand-by thrown in from time to time for author-enticity. The bulk of the book is devoted to ""Humorous Stories and Jokes for Every Occasion,"" and cold chestnuts they are, divorced from the sonorous rolling crest of Jessel oratory. Grouped by subject the yocks in print raise nary a smile although some are dear old friends: ""I have eighteen cavities to fill,"" says the golf-bound dentist. ""No, I have no pets, no children,"" says the prospective tenant, ""but I have a fountain pen that scratches a little."" Oh, that Georgie Jessel!
