FAVORITE ANIMALS OF AMERICA; FAVORITE BIRDS OF AMERICA

A bargain two-some which each contain 28 full-page, full-color Audubon reproductions. The bird book illustrations have reproduced very well, and although the animal illustrations have a muddy grey-brown cast, and the line is often fuzzy, some of the vitality of the originals is retained. Rapid, rather stuffy texts which touch upon habits, characteristics and locality of the birds and animals, by Kenneth D. Morrises, editor of the Audubon Magazine, accompany the illustrations. Large format with laminated covers, and the price will attract nature lovers from the picture book age on up. The animal book may be by-passed but the bird book is a true bargain.
