MOUNTAIN WORLDS: What Lives There

A quick look at the mountain ecosystem and how the climate changes--and with it the kinds of trees and animals--as you go up. Berger notes that there are different kinds of mountains in different parts of the country, but then points to some of the life forms you might find at each level of a ""typical"" one (what kind she doesn't say), with isolated examples of adaptation to the changing climate. With full-page illustrations too meager to fill the pages, this is an acceptable but far from bracing addition to the series.
