An excellent handbook for aspiring horsemen and a check-up for more advanced equestrians takes up not only the many aspects of correct performance on the part of the rider but takes into constant, telling consideration the behavior and actions of the mount. This approach gives a solid physiological and psychological basis to the equestrian art. The author offers a well-paced, over-all lesson on riding basics, performance in the ring, jumping, in open country. Diagrams throughout illustrate the right and wrong positions, the variety of possibilities. Correcting habits of the horse and eliminating obstructive fallacies also come under consideration. Definitely a necessary part of an equestrian's equipage.
